Solid Walnut Wood Table by IL Pezzo Mancante

The Italian furniture brand designed this stunning dining table using a solid, 8cm walnut block with a flash of ash or wenge streaking its way down the center. The natural oiled finish brings out the wood’s organic beauty. As its base, this table boasts seemingly random blocks of hand-forged brass. This table is sure to set the stage for a sumptuous meal and a lesson is great design, so pull up a seat! Choose from custom sizes and finishes. Prices are available on request. For more information, visit the IL Pezzo Mancante website here.

Color in Motion: Orbitz drink

Orbitz was the product name of a noncarbonated fruit-flavored beverage, made by the company Clearly Canadian Beverage Corporation (makers of Clearly Canadian), that had small edible balls floating in it. It was introduced around 1997 and quickly disappeared due to poor sales. The drink was marketed as a “texturally enhanced alternative beverage” but some consumers compared it to a portable lava lamp.
The small balls floated due to their nearly equal density to the surrounding liquid, and remained suspended with assistance from an ingredient known as gellan gum. The gellan gum provided a support matrix—something like a microscopic spider web–and had a visual clarity approaching that of water, which increased with the addition of sugar.

Speechless

ROY Demin

We are truly loving this video by Self Edge for ROY Demin, a one-man selvedge sewing machine.

Amzing hair movement

By Matthew Donaldson, a director and photographer whose career began by assisting Norman Parkinson, Lord Snowdon and Terence Donovan. With this wealth of experience, Matthew went freelance and soon had his first commercial studio set up in Charlotte Street, London. Working internationally, continuously in demand, and notoriously shooting some form of image every day, Matthew is a highly respected and very prolific fashion and beauty photographer. His clean crisp style has lent itself to many campaigns for clients including Sony, Harrods, Sony Ericsson, Kvadrat, Swarovski, Coca Cola and The Macallan.

The short film above is a recent collaboration between Matthew, internationally renowned hairstylist Sam McKnight, make-up artist Val Garland and music by Zero 7. As his model daughter Lily spins 360 degrees, her hair buffeted by four wind machines, Donaldson stretches two seconds into two hypnotic minutes, capturing every exquisite movement at 1,000 frames per second.

Jane Eyre's Style

Via: designsponge

Small and plain you are not, Jane Eyre. Sweepingly melancholy and whip smart — not to mention pain-inducingly gorgeous —are more apt descriptions. The Bronte sisters can spin a dizzyingly dark love story, and this most-recent adaptation sets the bar high for visual overload. I saw it twice in the theater, and I never do that.

Dark English manors, damp spring gardens, a Byronic hero, candlelight and mysterious wails from above, Jane Eyre is about as gorgeously Gothic a romance as you could hope for. Jane is the smartest of girls, and even if she does get tangled up with a tormented sort like Rochester, we’ll forgive her lapse in judgment this once.

Touch Wood

Cool Advertisement :)

Japanese ad agency Drill Inc., created this mesmerising mobile telephone advert to promote NTT Docomo’s wooden encased Touch Wood SH-08C handset. Featuring a giant wooden marimba, hand-built in the woods of Kyushu, Japan, as the ball rolls down the structure, Bach’s Cantana 147 is played out.
Drill creative director Morihiro Harano conceived the instrument which was built by Kenjiro Matsuo of Invisible Designs Lab.
